It has been about a month or so since I have last posted onto my blog. It’s mostly because I have been busy with mundane tasks and haven’t really gained any thing worthwhile to share with the cyber world. My time has been occupied with, going to work at the frame shop, going to events with the photo-booth, seeking out better jobs and applying to them and going apartment hunting, which I might add is a frustrating task. Throughout those mundane events, my portrait project idea keeps on occupying and demanding my mind. Since I have not all the dollars to get the lens I need, I have been spending my free time with researching the things that I am interested in relation to my project. Here are a few screen shots of what I have been working on:

These are scanned in articles from National Geographic Magazines my lovely friend Summer lend me, there are still piles of them I am going through. Through these articles I am gaining info on the lifestyles of these group of people such as, their roles in a family, warriors, ceremonies, eating/hunting methods, etc. Though my project will not appear ‘tribal’ or ‘primitive’ its the ideas that I will help me create something I will become obsessed over.

Birds of Paradise, the most beautiful birds in the world! These birds are becoming endangered because these people would hunt them down to get their feathers, which are used for their headdresses.

Due to this extensive research I am going to be constructing my own headdress and possibly a ghile suit with a ton of dyed materials. I will post pictures of it.
I am aiming for the summer to begin shooting this portrait project.
